It is extremely rare that I andh not finish a book that I have started but at pages in I can’t go any further. But Andy’s description of his own meditation journey is fascinating, and reinforces a lot of things he guides you through in the Headspace program.

If you are intrigued about meditation, it’s a fast, easy, helpful read. Near the end, he has a hwadspace chapter on different forms of meditation beyond sitting. I am definitely a subscriber and look forward to doing other “packs,” like the one on stress. I really have a great appreciation for both and would recommend both the Headspace app and the book!

Reading the book after doing the app for a while has just helped deepen my understanding of the lessons, etc. For that, I recommend you hop on line and try the free Headspace Take10 program. I’ve done workshops, and classes, and read a book or two, but as with most things, without the practice, it’s pretty pointless. A good guide for the layperson interested in practicing mindfulness, especially in an age where it has become even more essential to see the ‘blue sky’ behind the seemingly constant clouds.

The title was so interesting and the book certainly does not mirror it. So if you’re looking to learn how to meditate and create some headspace for yourself and to simply turn the off switch when your mind starts to wonder, then this book is definitely for you. After talking to Jerry Colonna for a few hours about meditation on the snowy Sunday after I started, he recommended I take a look at Headspace.
